Breakthrough Nurse Leader
Charleston, WV, The Future of Nursing West Virginia Action Coalition is pleased to announce that Laure Marino, APRN, RN, Nursing Director, Primary Care Center at Process Strategies/Highland Hospital has been chosen to receive the Culture of Health: Breakthrough Leaders in Nursing Award, sponsored by the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action. Laure is one of only 10 nurses from across the country chosen to receive this award. This honor includes a leadership development scholarship from the Center for Creative Leadership, fully funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
As a healthcare innovator, Laure opened the first of its kind WV integrated primary care/behavioral health center. As co-chair of The Future of Nursing WV Leadership Team, she developed a data base of available Board positions for nurses and is helping to design and write the online training curriculum that will prepare rising nurse leaders for those board positions.
